Delta Air Lines is overhauling its Delta One business-class experience. The US carrier is investing in upgraded dining, premium drinks and better sleep amenities as it steps up its push to attract high-spending travellers.
The revamp starts this autumn on transoceanic Delta One flights departing Los Angeles International Airport. It then expands across Delta’s global network in early 2027.
Delta says the project builds on more than $1 billion already invested in its fleet. It calls the overhaul its largest investment to date in refining the premium onboard experience. The new Delta One menu is only part of the story. The airline has also changed drinks, sleep products and even ground transfers.

When Delta One Passengers Will See the Changes
The first changes arrive this autumn on transoceanic Delta One flights leaving Los Angeles. Delta will then roll them out across its global network in early 2027.
Some items have their own dates. DASSAI 45 sake debuts on 3 November on flights to and from Tokyo Haneda. Blanton’s bourbon joins the onboard selection on 1 December. New cocktails and alcohol-free drinks arrive on international flights in March 2027 and on domestic services in April.
The New Delta One Menu: Wagyu, Sea Bass and Lamb
Food and drink sit at the centre of the changes. The revamped menu introduces a Wagyu beef burger, roasted sea bass with tomato-tarragon sauce, and braised lamb and beef short ribs. There is also a seasonal risotto and more lighter meal options.
Delta worked with chef Simon Hulstone and Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson to refine menus, ingredients and wine selections. In addition, regional culinary specialists Norio Ueno and Jereme Leung will keep advising on dishes that reflect local tastes, including meals on flights serving Japan and other Asian markets. Together, these changes give the Delta One menu a stronger sense of place.
The Signature Dessert Cart Gets Bigger
The Delta One menu keeps the signature dessert cart and expands the selection. It now includes a new dairy-free sorbet, which can be paired with Champagne Taittinger.
Wine, Sake and Bourbon: The New Delta One Drinks List
The new wine programme began with a review of 1,600 wines. Delta narrowed the list to 13 wines from 11 wineries for the October 2026 to September 2027 period. The range includes Napa Valley labels such as Silver Oak. Delta has also expanded its Champagne Taittinger partnership, which now extends to domestic Delta One services.
Two spirits are new to the list. Blanton’s bourbon arrives on 1 December. Premium Japanese sake DASSAI 45 debuts on 3 November on flights to and from Tokyo Haneda.
New Cocktails and Alcohol-Free Options Arrive in 2027
Delta is also introducing new cocktails and alcohol-free alternatives inspired by the Hugo Spritz and the Paloma. They are due on international flights in March 2027 and on domestic services in April.
More Control Over Meals and Rest
Passengers will have more say over what they eat and when they rest. Delta is extending the pre-order window for entrées to 18 hours before departure, six hours longer than before. On long-haul flights, customers can choose lighter meals or skip breakfast service. They can opt for coffee and a croissant before landing instead.
New tableware, designed around Delta’s signature widget logo, will support a more personal dining service. Other touches include a welcome ritual with a hot towel, warm nuts and a preferred drink. Fresh-cracked pepper and sauces will be served separately with main courses.
Delta One Sleep Upgrades: Missoni Kits, Skincare and Socks
Sleep gets attention too. Delta is introducing a new Missoni amenity kit collection and premium skincare products. A Missoni Mini pillow will replace the current cuddle pillow. Delta One is also bringing back its partnership with Bombas, which offers complimentary socks on selected routes.
Beyond the Cabin: Porsche Transfers and Wi-Fi
The upgrades extend beyond the cabin. Delta plans to grow its Porsche ground-transfer partnership from 40 to 70 hybrid vehicles across 15 major airports and hubs by 2028. The airline also says nearly 1,300 aircraft already have Delta Sync Wi-Fi, covering more than 95% of its fleet.
How Delta Built the New Delta One Experience
The redesign took 14 months. More than 200 flight attendants and other employees contributed. They gave feedback through four testing phases and 36 dedicated trial flights. Their input fed into a redesign that covers the Delta One menu, drinks and sleep products.
Why Delta One Matters in the Premium Travel Race
The changes underline Delta’s wider push to stand out through premium service. Airlines are competing for travellers willing to pay more for comfort, flexibility and personal experiences. By upgrading food, drinks and sleep at the same time, Delta is betting that Delta One can win over those high-spending passengers.
The report does not give an exact start date for the Los Angeles launch beyond “this autumn”. It also does not list every route that will get the changes first, or say whether fares will change. This story will be updated as more is known about Delta One.
